About On The Front Line Society
On The Front Line Society (breast cancer fund) provides short term financial assistance to Nova Scotian breast cancer patients, both women and men, who are in financial need. On The Front Line Society does not fund research.
Often, some of the most stressful realities of a cancer diagnosis are of a financial nature. Sometimes just coming up with bus fare and baby-sitting fees to get to chemo treatments can be difficult. A little bit of help can make a big difference.
Organization Goals:
- To maintain free, confidential access to short term financial assistance for women and men in Nova Scotia
who have breast cancer and are in financial need. - To increase community awareness of our services throughout Nova Scotia.
- To increase funding/volunteer efforts for our services throughout Nova Scotia.
Where does the money go?
The fund is available to offer help that can provide choices for people who feel trapped by their situation. If financial stress is affecting your quality of life, and there are no other financial resources available to you, we may be able to assist with short-term practical solutions. Some examples include:
home care | therapies |
child care | housing |
transportation | medical equipment (e.g. lymphedema sleeves) |
On The Front Line is also a proud sponsor of Breast Cancer Action Nova Scotia (BCANS) and Bosom Buddies of Nova Scotia who provide support services to breast cancer patients in Nova Scotia.
